Bio

I am currently an instructor of World History at Gulliver Preparatory Academy in Miami, FL. I also teach courses in Early and Modern American History and the History of South Africa at Florida International University and Miami-Dade College. I graduated from Florida International University with a Doctorate in History in 2016 and my research focuses on twentieth-century religious and cultural history. My dissertation research explores the development of transnational Pentecostal print culture in the United States and South Africa from the 1900s-1940s. It investigates the role of transnational print networks in the development of Pentecostal identities, and presents a cultural history of the main periodical of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa, "The Comforter and Messenger of Hope." My current scholarship investigates the formation of the modern evangelical homeschooling movement in the United States and traces its spread across the globe.
