My research has focused on the peace movement in France during the half century that preceded the First World War, an interest that intersects with the fields of peace history, transnational reform movements, and - more recently through specific attention given to the European Center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace from 1911 to 1924 - the rise of American influence in Europe through philanthropic foundations and INGOs.
