Dr. Steven L. Danver is a historian and Dean of Arts & Sciences at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington. He has spent over twenty-five years in academic administration and the study and teaching of history. He also teaches history, government, anthropology, sociology, and social science research methods, and is author or editor of eight books. He has been managing editor of Journal of the West since 2004.
He has written chapters in numerous edited volumes, his work has appeared in numerous journals, including Western Historical Quarterly, American Indian Quarterly, and Journal of the West. He is author/editor of the Encyclopedia of Politics of the American West (Sage, 2013/CQ Press), Native Peoples of the World (M.E. Sharpe, 2012), and the Encyclopedia of Water Politics and Policy in the United States (Sage/CQ Press, 2011).
