Hi everyone.
South Texas College is about to launch a workforce course I created that aims to help future applicants who want to apply for a teaching position in higher education, mainly community colleges in Texas. I created this course because of the high rejection rate from applicants from R-1 institutions to high school instructors with master's degrees applying to teach dual enrollment. It is a six week course, about 40 hours of work depending on how quickly students accomplish required module tasks. Task begin with an general introduction to history pedagogy and Texas higher education policy and continues through researching potential institutions of higher education, writing a research based cover letter, learning to do job interviews, and ending with producing a teaching demonstration.
I wanted to know if there similar workforce courses in other parts of the nation?
Thanks for your response and questions in advance.
