NYC Teachers, Kathy Shaugnessy and I  are recruiting cohort 2 for this summer in Queens, the world's borough! Tell your friends and family!

The NHPRC Grant "Family, Immigration, and History: Grade 10 Citizen Archivists in the Digital Age" at St. John's University offers teachers an opportunity to develop curricula and resources to inspire inquiry-based learning that addresses Grade 10 Units 5 and 6 of the NYC Social Studies Scope and Sequence. Teachers will spend a week in the summer workshop sharing and exploring ideas and methods about using family history to teach major themes in world history through open digital archives and open repository. All participants will have an opportunity to present their curricula at conferences and work on publications related to the grant and the workshops.
