Citing Sources on a Web Page

I am looking for advice on adding citations to a web page. The usual footnote/end notes does not work in the same manner on a HTML page as compared to a Word document, so I am finding it hard to add footnotes to text.  I also need advice on the best policy for citing bibliographic information for images other than providing a direct link. I have some HTML skills but I have been using Open Office Web Writer to compile my page. Has anyone had any experience with any of these issues? Does anyone have any ideas on the best policy or practice for web page citations?

I would also like to find out if anyone else is compiling a web page with learning content. I believe it would be nice to collaborate for critiques, reviews or advice.

Thank you in advance for your help.
