"Crafting Freedom" A Five-Day Expenses-Paid Black History Workshop for K-12 Educators
"Crafting Freedom: African American Entrepreneurs in the Antebellum South" is an NEH Landmarks of American History and Culture workshop. K-12 teachers, media specialists, administrators, substitute teachers, home schooling teachers and others are eligible. Based in Durham, North Carolina, "Crafting Freedom" will be offered twice: Session I: June 18-23, 2015 and Session II: June 25 -June 30, 2015. Crafting Freedom was first offered in 2004 and has been deemed "exceptional" by hundreds of educators for over a decade.
Crafting Freedom provides a $1200 stipend and features scholarly lectures and presentations; free classroom-tested media and materials; bus tours to off-the-beaten-track sites and museums; dramatic performances; a relaxed collegial setting and much,much more. Completed applications must be submitted to the workshop address and not to the NEH. The deadline is March 2, 2015.
