As a Senior Foreign Service Officer and Global Environmental NGO Executive Director, I enjoyed the opportunity to work together with broadly diverse teams within the Department of State, other governments, international organizations and NGOs around the world.
After retirement, I have been engaged on environmental issues locally, active in journalism on topical issues, and, since 2021, working hard as an individual to promote a national non-partisan discussion on the Second Amendment, its history, and impact on 21st century America.
As a student of history, and as someone who was fortunate to have been a part of the history of the late Cold War and transition to the post-Cold War world, I have now become re-immersed in history in order better to understand the era of my professional activity and do my part to ensure that history informs and serves public policy to the greater good of the country and world.
