    Dear colleagues,

Happy New Year! I'm passing along this update from the incoming VP of the AHA Teaching Division, Laura McEnaney, regarding the upcoming Teaching History conference.

    Kind regards,
    Emily Swfford

Greetings to our history educator communities!

We are taking a quick moment of your time to make three announcements.

First, we want to remind you that the deadline to submit a proposal for the Third Biennial 2019 Teaching History Conference is Monday, January 14.  For more information on this year's theme and to access the call for proposals, see our conference webpage: https://centerx.gseis.ucla.edu/event/teaching-history-conference/

Second, we are thrilled to announce the addition of UCLA Professor H. Samy Alim as our second keynote speaker.  Professor Alim is one of the thought leaders on culturally sustaining pedagogies.   https://anthro.ucla.edu/faculty/h-samy-alim

Third, conference registration will open in mid-late January. In the meantime, we are publishing registration fees (below) as you consider your travel plans. We will also publish affordable hotel rates in the new year. Thank you for your patience with us!
