A few of us are intending to propose a roundtable session for next year’s conference in Denver on issues in history education at two-year institutions. Many students at community colleges are non-traditional and non-history majors, so we hope to address the application of the Tuning Project disciplinary core for such students. There is also a particular need to engage students in a way that connects with their particular experiences, often different from those at four-year schools. We are open to other aspects of the issue that might fit in to this general theme.
We are looking for one or two additional panelists for this roundtable. If you any insights or interests that might be applicable, and plan to go to Denver next January, let me know as soon as possible.
