Bio

I teach American and European survey courses for Elizabethtown Community & Technical College in Kentucky. My role is to be an Off Campus Specialist, which sounds like I'm teaching on the side of the road or in the parking lot at Wal-mart, but really means traveling to our three satellite campuses to teach. I also teach online, occasionally, and via ITV.
This semester I was inspired by a couple of sessions at AHA16 to try an avatar project in my classroom and have really enjoyed the process, so far.
My area of study in grad school was eighteenth and nineteenth century Britain, but find myself drawn more and more into the Romans and the Middle Ages these days.
For sixteen years I was in charge of Safety, Human Resources, and a lot of other things for a local trucking company while working one or two nights as an adjunct for ECTC for about ten years.
Outside of work, I enjoy woodworking, bowyery (love to make English longbows and Native American bows), biking, photography (you'd never know by my profile pic), and spending time with my wife, daughter and son on our 65 acre property trying to make it into something like a farm.
