Alan E. Johnson is an independent scholar and author in the fields of history, constitutional law, political science, and philosophy. He is retired from a long career as an attorney in which he focused mainly on constitutional and public law litigation. He is the author of the following books: "The First American Founder: Roger Williams and Freedom of Conscience" (2015) and "The Electoral College: Failures of Original Intent and a Proposed Constitutional Amendment for Direct Popular Vote" (2018). He is currently working on a set of companion books with the provisional titles "Free Will and Human Life" and "Reason and Human Ethics."
