Bio

I am a dedicated teacher and researcher, with extensive experience teaching in online and face-to-face formats. Lately, I’ve worked on several institutional projects to enhance online teaching and learning via the Blackboard LMS. I also have experience building courses in Canvas, and I am a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer. I have a great knack for and interest in online curriculum and course design. Through my participation in the AHA’s Lumina-funded Tuning Project, I’m working with my department to redesign our AA in History. Our current project is to create a capstone course and post a detailed Degree Specification Profile online.

My historical research focus is the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands and modern Latin American History. I am revising my dissertation manuscript for publication in Texas A & M University Press' Connecting the Greater West series, edited by Sterling D. Evans. Additionally, I am currently developing an iBook for CNM’s New Mexico History course, which I’ve taught many times at several different New Mexico colleges and universities.
