    Hello all,

I'm guessing some of us are in the midst of grading student assignments and exams right about now. How is it going?
What questions do you ask yourself as you evaluate student work that you hope will help things go well again/go better next time you teach? How do you approach answering these questions? Are you collecting any qualitative or quantitative data as you go along that you will analyze before you plan your summer or fall classes?  If so, do you do this systematically in a spreadsheet, etc., or do you get a sense as you go along, and then write up notes or ideas for later?
Are you encountering any big surprises about what students got or missed?
I'm curious about the range of practices out there in the community.

Thanks for sharing, and good luck to you and your students!

    Julia
