The Alliance for Learning in World History formed in 2012 in order to facilitate the teaching and learning of world history in middle and secondary schools. The Alliance included delegates from AHA, World History Association, National Council for History Education, and National Council for the Social Studies. The Alliance has just announced its first main activity: a World History Institute, a week-long, intensive professional development workshop for middle school and high school teachers, to be held in Pittsburgh July 13-19 (two travel days plus five days of instruction). The application deadline is April 24.
